About the Expert

Shaune grew up in the Philippine Islands where she attended Silliman University and obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. In 2003, she joined Dr. Srivastava’s private practice “Cardiac Surgical Associates of West Texas” as clinic RN with the responsibility of coordinating patient referrals, participating in patient rounds, assisting in robotic and minimally invasive procedures, and managing the patient follow up clinic. She also acted as clinical research coordinator for the practice, organizing data collection and coordination of all device trials and minimally invasive cardiac surgical procedures, and actively assisted in various scientific presentations and manuscripts. She was also responsible for managing physician visits and proctorships through industry liaisons.

In 2007, she relocated with Dr. Srivastava’s group to The University of Chicago Medical Center to start the robotic cardiac program as Robotic Program Manager. In addition to the management of a start up robotic program, Shaune organized the cardiac operating rooms as Specialty Manager, and initiated and launched clinical research trials for the Cardiac Surgery Department.

Presently, Shaune continues to be associated with the Robotic Cardiac Revascularization Program and Dr. Srivastava under Peachtree Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons.
