Frequently Asked Questions
How is ICRS affiliated with SJHA?
Saint Joseph's Health System of Atlanta(SJHA) has been a training center for robotic surgery since 2004, but in 2009 SJHA wanted to begin a formal and international robotics training program to teach surgeons and their respective teams so that patients everywhere can receive the benefits of robotic surgery.
When will training be available?
We have certain training options available now, with more programs to follow.
Who pays for the training?
The hospital.
How much does training cost?
It depends on the specific clinical training pathway, as the majority of our programs are customized. If you are interested in learning more, please send us your contact information and one of our representatives will personally contact you.
What makes the ICRS training approach so different?
It is a truly customized, peer to peer, total team training approach. Although you are welcome to visit us onsite, we also offer the option to train over the internet and observe cases online, eliminating the need for you to travel. We offer you the option of having us “adopt” you and your team for one year. We fully commit to you until you are proficient, and then offer you ongoing support beyond that.
When will you have specialties other than cardiac?
Our plans are to have urology training available in the fall of 2009 and gynecology training in early 2010.
How will I know my hospital is set up correctly for remote training?
All you need is a good internet connection, and one of our specialists will work with your team to ensure that this is set up properly. We will also perform a test of the setup.
Are you a part of Intuitive Surgical?
No, but we work closely with the representatives of Intuitive Surgical to ensure that you are fully supported through all steps of your robotic training to fully develop your robotic program.
